When can I actually use Fiksit?
We launch across all of Brussels and the Flemish periphery at once, as soon as the royal decree on our recognition is published in the Official Gazette. Sign up today and you'll get one email when that happens. Nothing else. No newsletter, no noise.
Isn't this undeclared work?
No. Fiksit works under Belgium's sharing economy scheme. On 16 July 2026 the FPS Finance concluded the administrative review of our recognition application positively, and on 10 September it confirmed in writing that the royal decree is being drafted. Paid bookings start once that decree is published in the Official Gazette. Fiksers then work with 10.7% withheld at source, an annual 281.29 tax form and a ceiling of €7,890 gross per year (2026). They need no VAT number or company registration (art. 90, 1°bis ITC 92 and Royal Decree of 12 January 2017).
How do I know the fikser is trustworthy?
Every fikser verifies their identity with their eID and someone from our team reviews every application before the fikser can start. After every job you rate your fikser, and future customers see that rating. We provide insurance for every job. Something went wrong? You have 48 hours to report it in the app.
What makes Fiksit different?
On other platforms you post a request, candidates respond and you choose. At Fiksit we suggest one fikser from your neighbourhood, with their profile, ratings and rate, and you confirm or ask for someone else. You see upfront which amount we reserve, and extra time is only added with your approval. Need help right away? Someone is usually at your door within two hours. That's a goal, not a guarantee: it depends on how many fiksers are available at that moment. You can also pick your own day and time. And the fikser decides what they earn: we take nothing from their pay.
Why we're building Fiksit
It started small. A cupboard that had sat in boxes for weeks. A garden getting out of hand. A heavy cupboard that needed moving.
We tried everything. One platform made us post a request and then just wait. Another had a four-hour minimum. Facebook groups didn't feel safe. And comparing quotes for a one-hour job? That made no sense.
We're Sam and Mats, two brothers from Brussels, later joined by Boyan as CTO. The longer we looked, the more we saw the same thing: home help had become too formal, too slow, or too unreliable.
But there was a bigger idea underneath.
You used to just ask the neighbours. Someone from the street dropped by, and it was sorted. We've lost that feeling somewhere. Calendars are full, neighbours don't know each other anymore, and people who need help are often on their own.
Fiksit brings that back. Neighbour helps neighbour, with an app behind it that makes it simple, safe and legal.
One booking does more than you'd think. A student takes a first step into work. A busy family gets an afternoon back. An older person gets a hand close by, from a familiar face.
